Island Site

The Governors. of the General Hospital hoped after demolition to rebuild on the existing site, but the Commissioner of Public Health preferred the hospital to be moved elsewhere, possibly to vacant land opposite the Country Hospital, known as the "Island" site. The Commissioner of Public Health proposed that some arrangement be made whereby the Country Hospital and the General Hospital become complementary and pointed out that though the General Hospital's needs were great, the hospitals belonging io the Council were relatively in a far worse position The full report of the committee's findings will first be submitted to the superintendents of the Country and General Hospitals, it was learned terday. Towards the end of this Week, the report will be made public.

After to-morrow night, the Municipal Council will not meet again until September 8.
