Determined to be in full readiness for possible war, the Cabinet to-day approved a Bill submitted by Edouard Daladier, Minister' of National Defence,' to strengthen France's military and naval. power.
The measure involves the expendi:
4000 million franes for imthe equipment of the land land sea forces, increasing the nu ber of regular troops, and strength ing" defence, particularly gal auks and armoured-ears, It also provides for the expendi ture" of 100,000,000, franes for strengthening naval armament and harbour defence works.
The new burdens which the Bill will place on the shoulders of the people have been rendered necessary, the Government states, by the dangers of war.
The new measures, it adds, are necessary for French security in view of the present situation in Europe Reuter.
