Hongkong, Sept. 6.

The Japanese Navy to-day was in occupation of Pratas Shoal, 180 miles South of Hongkong, where there is a Chinese meteorological station, It is unknown here when the Japanese occupied the shoal, a lonely speck in the ocean seldom visited by any but the weather station's supply ship and occasionally sighted by the Hongkong Clipper, but news of the occupation was supplied to-day by both the Clipper's crew and a ship of the British Navy. The Hongkong Clipper crew saw Japanese destroyers using Pratas Shoal as a base when en route from Hongkong to Manila this morning—United Press,
