Tokyo, Sept. 6.
There is no change in the Japanese Government's policy of "drastically punishing" the Nanking Government, "irrespective of whether the required operations are short or protracted," the Premier, Prince Fumimaro Konoye, told the Diet to-day.
The Government, he later added, in reply to another interpellation, "wants to deal speedily a fatal blow to the Chinese troops." The military authorities, he declared, "are confident of being capable of achieving this aim."
General Gen Sugiyama, War Minister, informed the parliament tanans that there was no necessity to convoke an extra session of the Diet to approve of another supplementary budget, "unless important changes occur in the plan of military operations."
The amount foreign-made of munitions, needed by Japan, he revealed, is "comparatively small."
