The Arst death sentences under the recently-promulgated emergency regulations: were imposed to-day by the Criminal Assizes at Jerusalem on two Arabe, Both prisoners were found guilty of firing on British troops escorting 'a convoy on the Nablus road, north of Jerusalem, on August 7, when a British soldier was wounded.
Meanwhile, the Government has forbidden the meeting of the Ar% Strike Committee called for Thursday to decide whether or not to cal off the strike.
