Hopes To Increase Membership To 500,000
London, Sept. 20.
The Labour Party has launched a nation-wide drive to secure 100,000 new members.
During the week 5,000 meetings, for which 1,000 speakers have been engaged, will be held in all parts of the country, while 2,000,000 leaflets and 500000 pamphlets, outlining Labour's policy, will be distributed.
Mr. Herbert Morrison, Chairman of the National Campaign Committee, hopes that, as a result of the campaign, the membership of the Labour Party will be increased to 500,000.—
