Tsinan, Sept. 3.
Though it fx half a month since Nanking re-took Tsinan, the Generaliseimo evidently did not think it} worth while to follow up his easy] victory. The Northern troops sti just across the Yellow River dozen. miles away, and we can] clearly bear the artillery duel each) evening. Some reports say that in one or two places the Northern troops are sill South of the Yellow iver.
General Chiang's Southern sold-jis after a day's rest here went bret: to the Lung Hai front leaving] Gen. Han Fuchu's army in posses sion. Han's men, who evacuated Tsinan over two retreated eastward along the Shantung railway carrying most of the volling. stock, including armoured trams with them. They seem to] have spent the intervening weeks on the railway and are now back apparently an undefeated amy.
