Nanking, Sept. 20, Devaluation of the French' frane will have little, if any, adverse effect on China, declared' the official "Central Daily News" in an editorial commenting on the French move to-day, Two reasons were advanced by the journal in support of its contention. Firstly, China will be able to maintain her exchange status with other countries despite the depreciated exchange value of the French franc as the foreign exchange in this country is not attached to any foreign currency.
Secondly, the volume of trade between France and China is comparatively negligent. In 1035, French exports 10 China totalled about $13 million, occupying only 145 per cent. of China's total imports. Despite the drop of the French exchange rate, imports from France will not materially inerease.—Central News.
