In order to ascertain whether the virtue of thrift, as advocated by the Nanking Thrift Movement, really has been driven home to the populace, and, if so, to what extent local residents are practising economy in time, money and materials, all Government offices, educational institutions, places of amusement, restaurants, barber: visited by inspectors on October 19 by fan inspection camps headed by Wu Ting-chang, Minister of indus tries, and Mr. Ma Chao-chun, the Mayor—Central News.
