Sim—In your Correspondence Columns this morning, there is an appeal over the signatures of three prominent. residents, which is supported by yourselt'in a leaderette, for funds to rebuild a Nurses Home in' the Hangchow Hospital, recently destroyed by fire, and to assist. the, nurses whose personal effects were destroyed, This comes at a time when many deserving charities expect special assistance, and it is. reasonable to observe that a little forethought on the part of the hospital authorities concerned, in the matter of insurance, Wwould have obviated the necessity for another appeal to the generosity of the public at this time.
