New York, Oct. 25.
Cotton prices early declined on commission house liquidation, hedge-selling and lower Liverpool advices. Subsequently, the market rallied on covering and Wall Street and local buying. The prices reacted once again moderately owing to lack of buying interests following up. The strength of the securities market was a favourable factor. At the close, quotations were from unchanged to 6 points down compared with Saturday's final levels.
The initial weakness of the rubber market was caused by depressing London advices. Later, however, prices improved on the rally of stocks and factory interests buying on the scale-down. At the last call-over, losses from 27 to 31 points were recorded.
Prices in the Chicago wheat pit advanced on better Liverpool cables and in sympathy with the stock market. At the final bell, gains of 3/8 of a cent were registered.
