Sheer Stupidity

Says a writer on economies, dealing with the cost of rearmament to the world up to 1932, namely U.S.$4,276,800,000:—

Suppose I had that much money and spent it at the rate of $10 per day. I should still have some left after more than a million years.

That, of course, is supposing he lived the million years. And then Suppose it should be transformed into a piece of tape, mile for dollar: it would go round the world 172,169 times.

Well, we mean ter sye, any man wot ud turn good spondulix into tape is barmy in the crumpet, while Suppose I had it in gold pieces of $10 each, and counted them at the rate of one piece a second; the job would take 20 years, It wouldn't if it were our money, We'd just take it round to the bank and say "Now you blighters, count that."
