With national and Party Mags ftying over all government buildings and shops, the local Chinese community observed on Mar. 21 the frst "Shanghai Festival," a day chosen by the City Government to celebrate the anniversary of the Nationalist oc+ cupation of this eily ten years ago. 'The City Government's bureaux, the Municipal "Library, Museum and other big buildings in the Civie Centre, were all thrown open to the pub Ye' from 9 am, to 8 pin, and special buses were put into ser~ vice from Chapel to Kiangwan order to convey the crowds to the Civic Centre, In the Chinese City, an exhibition of middle and. primary school students was opened by the Educational Commissioner at the Sich Cheng School. The "Shanghai Fes-final" will become an annual event from now on and will be celebrated elaborately in the future,
