Nationalist News Agency issues the following:
The false report published today lay the Hankow "Herald" that foreign banks would disclaim all responsibility for deposits is denied in a caustic fetter to that paper from Mr. A. P. Calhoun of the National City Bank lof New York (formerly the International Banking Corporation), "The letter says in part:
Before taking it upon yourself to quote any policies involving this institution, we must ack that, you obtain information from the officials in charge by whom such statements ill be issued under authorized signature. We shall expect you to publish a retraction of your statement.
"Copies of the letter wore sent the U. 8. Consul-General and to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, of Reuter. the Nationalist Government."—
