The Bank of China building, slowly rising storey after storey at the corner of Jinkee Rosd and The Bund, fon May 24 claimed a victim. A Chinese workman who was being taken up on to. the scaffolding by means of a box fixed to one of the cranes used in the construction work fell while in mid air and dropped 80 foet to his death, He was taken to the Lester Chinese Hospital, and was pronounced dead on arrival.
