Shanghai failed to drive home 'y|their advantage 1 hale, }when, with the wind in their favour, they had much the better of the play. Their half backs repeatedly set the forwards in motion, but the! front line rarely looked dangerous fand only on two occasions had Clarke, the Hongkong goalkeeper, really ' to exert himself to clear. On the general play they dveeryfed to be one or two goals up instead of goal down at the interval, te being scored by Gosano, who converted a penalty awarded for foul on Brown, who was going through when he was brought down from behind in the goal arca.
