For their failure to attend inquiries by Nanking officials into the reported {manipulations on the Chinese Cotton JGoods Exchange, 42 brokers have been ordered to suspend tradings for three days. Arrangements are reported to have been made with the Exchange by the brokers' association to prolong the period of settlement for three days so as to allow the suspend ed brokers to settle their transactions at a later dae.
All the brokers were required personally to answer questions regarding their dealings and the names of their customers
