Cairo, May 12.
A. political sensation has been caused by the announcement that Abbas Hilmi, who was at one time Khedive of Egrpt, has. renounced all claim: to the Throne and has recognized King Fuad as the legitimate sovereign.
Abbas Hilmi was deposed 1914, when Egypt was declared a British Protectorate, and has lived in exile in Constantinople and Switzetland.
The document in which he re-ounces the Throne was signed at Lausanne to-day following negotintions with the Premier of Egypt, Sidky Pasha—Reuter.
