Budge Ill with High Temperature

Adelaide, Jan. 12.

Donald Budge, the Californian holder of the Wimbledon and American lawn tennis championships, will be unable to play in the international contest between Australia and the United States beginning to-morrow as a result of a high temperature and sore throat. He hopes, however, to be able to compete in the Australian championships starting here on Jenu-"ry 22.

The American sports promoter, Mr. Jimmy Johnston, has bid higher than anyone else to have Budge to turn professional. The red-haired Cal fornia, however, intends to help the United States to retain the Davis Cup this year.—Reuter.
