Jackson Suggested Goal-keeper: Peasgood of the S.M.P

and Jackson of the Loyals are mndoubtedly the best of the British goalkeepers, but the former is suffering from an injured wrist so that Jackson might be given first vote.

Backs: We have Shute, Gibson, Douglas, Curtiss and possibly Angus Turner for consideration, and it is possible that the two Police backs, Shute and Turner, will receive the necessary votes.

Halfbacks: At right half, there should be only one candidate, namely, Brown of the Durhams, who in recent games has given fine exhibitions of half-back play. The pivotal position should not cause the selectors any trouble as undoubtedly Lieut. Whiteing is the man for the job. At left half, Al Symons, on his display in the charity game, should be a certainty for the wing berth.

Forwards: The policy of playing two team mates on the wing is often a soulld one, and here Shuttleworth and Taylor must have first consideration for the right wing, with Willie Ward of the SMP. in the centre forward berth. So fanas outside left is concerned, Jim Ward of the ASF. should have no serious rivals. side left, Alec Jack, who is a natural" inside forward, will have i0 be considered for this berth. Jack Played a fine game in the Charity match, and should give Jim Ward that service which makes him a dangerous raider.

Goal—Jackson (Loyals)

L.B—Shute (SMP.)

—whlteing (Loyals) (Capt LHA. Symons (Rees) OR-—Taylor (Loyals) LR.—Shuttleworih (Loyals)

—W. Ward (SMP) TL—A. Jack, (SM.P.) ELS, Ward (ASF).

The above side is well balanced both fore and aft. The defence suggested is a sound one, and the attack, one that can get goals, and if these players shauld represent Great Britain should have no difficulty in overcoming France, and going on to the final.

Displaying slightly better technique in shooting. Kuo Kwang's success was well earned. Led by P. S. Kao, who stood out with five field baskets to [his credit, the Chinese team played an attacking game throughout the whole thirty-two minutes and, with
