C.M.S.N. Thanks Department for "Zealous" Action Mr, W. German, chief officer of the Harbour Fire Brigade, received yesterday a letter of appreciation for the good work of the department in extinguishing the big godown blaze et Pootung recently, The letter, signed by the China Merchants Steam Navigation Company's Wharf and Godown Administration reads as follows:
We beg to express our thanks for the able and efficient work done by yourself and your staff in successfully combating the serious fire at "E" and "F" godowns at our Yangkahdu Wharf.
We thoroughly appreciate that had it not been for the speedy and zealous action taken by your department, this fire would have in all probability- attained: far graver dimensions.
