GEKMANY'S FOREIGN TRADE GROWS

Marked Increase Shown in June Returns Berlin, July 15.

Foreign trade figures for the month. of June show a considerable increase both in imports and exports by comparison with the month of May.

Imports were returned at 504,000,- 000 Reichsmarks or almost 13° per coni higher than the figures of May, this increase being partly due th the augmented volume of the imports as result of seasonal influences, and partly to the appreciable increase of prices of all kinds of merchandise on the world market. Measured by volume the June imports were about equal to the monthly average of 1931. The increase of imports was chiefly in raw materials.

Exports in June were retuned at 481,000,000 Reichsmarks as against 456,000,000 Reichsmarks in the month of May, ie. an increase of about five per cent, By comparison with June, 1936, this is an absolute increase of 111,000,000 Reichsmarks.

The increase of the exports from May to June, 1937, was chiefly due to greater exports of industrial products. In May the exports exceeded the imports by 8,500,000 Reichsmarks whereas in June' the imports exceed the exports by 23,000,000 Reichsmarks. fish products Beans and peas Cereals wuyestuils, vegetables uns, preserves Meaicinals wax Seeds nous beverages Sugar Tea Tobacco Vegetables Vegetable products Bamboo Fuel Rattan Timber Paper Textile fibres Yarn, thread Ores, mi Glass, glassware Stone, earth Chemicals Printed Matter Sundry Grand Total $3,843,710 249,005,287
