After a survey of highway communication in the province, General Hsu, with the assistance of experts, has formulated a new project for highway construction.
This new project calls for the completion of highways linking Kwangtung with the neighbouring provinces at an early date, and the construction of more provincial and regional highways In' aid of highway construction in Kwangtung the Central Government recently appropriated $3,000,000. Con~ sidering this amount insufficient to meet the needs of the new project, General Hsu has telegraphed to the Central authorities petitioning for an additional appropriation of $5,000,000, or the issuance of bonds to the same amount if it is beyond the financial resources of the central treasury at the present juncture.
