Rumania Prohibits Maize Exports

Bucharest, July 27.

The export of maize was forbidden by a Ministerial decree of July 23 because estimates indicate that this year's maize harvest will scarcely suffice for covering the home needs.

According to statements made by a Rumanian news agency, the Rumanian export of maize from January 1 to July 1, 1937, is worth 1,400,000,000 Lei of which more than 1.000.000.000 Lei were supplied to Germany.—Trans-Ocean.
