A group of Alpirists succeeded in reaching the bottom of the recently discovered prehistoric cave in the Oetsch region of the East Styrian Alps. Exploration took 36 hours and was made very difficult by ice. The explorers were finally able to ascertain that the cave is the second deepest so far discovered in the world, having a depth of nearly 1,700 feet.—Trans-Ocean.

The capital, he said, was subscribed half by the "Provisional Government" and half by the eight participating Chinese banks here and in Tientsin. The Bank will have advisers, presumably Japanese, who will be empowered to attend the meetings of the Board of Directors.
