Thirteen Killed and Three Injured During Test Moscow, Feb. 7.
Thirteen members of the crew of nineteen of the Soviet dirigible V8 were killed to-day when the airship crashed during a practice flight in ihe Kandalaksha district, in Mur-mensk Province.
Three of the crew were injured, while the remaining three escaped unhurt, The crew of the dirigible had sent a petition to the Government, asking for permission to go to the rescue of the five North Pole scientists, drifting on a ledge of ice somewhere off the north coast of Greenland since February 1, The disaster to the dirigible occurred during a trial flight which was held to decide whether the dirigible should go to the Arctic, The airship hit the top of a mountain owing to poor visibility—Reuter
