Steel mill activity in the United States for the week ended February 12, was placed at 31.0 per cent. of capacity, according to the weekly report of the American Iron and Steel Institute, published to-day.
This compares with 30.7 per cent. Of capacity last week and 816 per cent. of capacity for the corresponding period of last year, showing an increase of 0.3 per cent. of capacity from last week but a decrease of 50.6 per cent. of capacity compared with the corresponding period of last year.—Reuter Mr. Wong Hung-fah, Dean of the College of Agriculture of Anhwei University in Anking, has been appointed by the Anhwei Provincial Government to the post of Acting President of the Universit; succession to Mr. Li Shun-ching, was dismissed a few days ago for leaving the University without orders, says a dispatch *o the Chinese press.
