Since front-page space was given to the statement which hus caused the Japanese military officials to take the very serious position of threatening to destroy the property of the University, we believe that front-page space should. be given to this correction of that statement, and that all possible ance ry should be given to us in getting this information to the proper officials.
The property of the University of Shanghai is owned jointly by the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society, which has headquarters in (New York, and by the Foreign Mission Board, of the Southern Baptist Convention, which has headquarters in Richmond, Ya. The institution has the direct interest of more than seven million Baptists of America Its destruction would cause great consternation and distress to these people, We are addressing this letter to you in the interest of the two mission organizations in America who own the property of the University of Shanghai W.
