In one of the most thrilling contests ever played in any seasọn in local bowling annals, the Foreign Y.M.C.A. ran out champions im the Inter-Club Ten Pin League last night as a result of taking one game out of the three against the U.S. Marines last night in the "Y" alleys. This solitary game incidently decided the fortunes of these two teams and allowed the "Y" to wind up this season's and campaign with seventeen wins in 24 games whereas the Marines gained sixteen and lest eight. The Service team, however, finished the league without, yielding a single match as they scored each of their eight matches by a. score of 2-1, Cpl. Cushman was in remarkable form, turning in one of his best displays of the season. He tallied both high marks with a single of 225 ani a triple of 585. Sgt. Higginson gave him valuable assistance, with a three seme total of 568, The latter bowled consistently though the former dropped off in the third game. Had he been able to continue his earlier performances, the "Y" could not have captured the league title.
The Marines owed their success in the initial game to Cpl. Cushman and Sgt. Higginson who garnered 206 and 208 respectively. These two good scores eventually upset the "Y" representatives, who failed to chalk up any high mark and therefore had to lose by a margin of 35 pins at 873-835, Withdut showing signs of slackening, the Service team continued to gain an edge in the second game, Cushman did even more scintillating work in registering a single of 225 which again dashed "Y" hopes. The rest of the team also did their share and bowled in- persistent form, Cpl. Respess chalked' up the least count of 193.
On the "Y" side Kohnert was alone in displaying champion form, netting 194, The remainder of the team failed to pass even 170 and, result, lost by a total of 927-
