BERLIN BOURSE, WEEKLY REPORT

Rumours that the Reichsbank which for 5% years past kept its discount rate unchanged at 4 per cent. was about to adapt its rate to the actual market conditions have not obtained confirmation, well-informed circles pointing out that although the market is now very much more resistant than formerly, the stability of the Reichs-bonk rate is considered more important than a lower rate that might after all only prove temporary. Nor does it appear as though there is any truth in persistent rumours that a general conversion in the interest rates on bonds is contemplated, st least not for the time being.

The business in industrial bonds which for a short time was very brisk as state and municipal bonds mere -not to be had in the quantity demanded, has become more quiet. The great success of the issue of the 40,000,000 Reichsmark Brabag loan and the new loan of the Deutsche Erdoel OG. ie. German Mineral Oils shows that the public is glad to accept 4% per cent. industrial bond issues.

Shares remained quiet, prices being little ci except in special cases, for example in Continental Rubber shares where a higher dividend is expected. The rise in bank shares has come to a standstill.

The following were the quotations of some of the leading German shares on March 7 and 12 respectively:
