Pootung Fighting a Plea for Peace

To the Editor of the "Noxtu-Curna Dairy News"

Sim,—Japan to-day has moved the scene of fighting to the Pootung @reas opposite the Bund, within deafening earshot of a great portion of Shanghai's foreign population fas though to remind them that it is to-day, exactly three weeks since Japan started her great campaign around Shanghai for the "Chastisement of the Chinese people." Actually we need no such reminder, although the very slight advances, if the Japanese have made, may make one believe the battle' only started a few days ago.

I do hope the Japanese will leave us in peace, and go back to their daily honest work as we are trying to go back to ours
