New York, Apr. 1.
Stock prices on Wall Street to-day finished with gains up to about 3 points, despite moderate margin selling in the forenoon, together with occasional profit-taking. Buying was chiefly based on the theory that the rally is in the making, after the recent drastic elimination of weekly held stocks. At the same time, the firmness of foreign markets and the boom in the Paris Bourse were sustaining influences. Steels were very prominent, while rails responded to a contra-seasonal gain in carloadings. The turnover to-day amounted to 860,000 shares.
