Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Council on the afternoon November 29 made an inspection of important works being carried out in the Eastern District. Under the guidance of the Commissioner of] Public Works, accompanied by the Treasurer and Controller and other} officials, the Committee visited the new police station at the corner of Pingliang and Glen roads, the new police hospital on Ward Road and the Ward Road gaol, the Muirhead Road house refuse incinerator, the new abattoir on Sawgin Road, and also the conereteware yard.
The Point Police Station, the construction of which ly advancing, will no doubt stimulate development of this district. In addition to the station, a barracks is being built an SV.C. magazine. At the station the accommodation includes seven flats and 13 single rooms for foreign police,
