Acting upon orders of Mr. Nelson T. Johnson. American Ambassador io China, the American Consulate in Swatow will wind up its affairs within a few days, according to information from diplomatic circles here.
Meanwhile, all American nationals in Swatow are preparing for a general evacuation.
This step, it is learned, is considered necessary in view of the constant bombardment of Swatow by Japanese planes which have endangered lives and property of foreign nationals in the city.—Central News.
