Speaker's Vote srrciat mo THE "NODA."
London, Apr. 13.
A division in the House of Commons yesterday resulted in a dead heat when Mr. Oliver Locker-Lampson, Conservative member for the Handsworth division of Birmingham, asked leave to introduce a Jewish Citizenship Bill.
One hundred and fourteen votes ere cast for the measure, and the same number against.
The Speaker, however, gave his casting vote in favour, of the Bill which was then read for the first time.
The Bill would give Jews in lands other than Palestine the right to call themselves citizens of Palestine and to be regarded as protected persons under the mandate.—Reuter.
