The Belgian Government, in. emulation of the French scheme, intends to construct a chain of fortifieations along the frontier beginning at Li tending to the Dutch frontier. It is understood that the fortifications: will consist chiefly of reinforced conjerete dugouts and trenches with strong fortresses between at cert intervals. The system will be frowned by Liege fortress the reconstruction of which is nearly completed and which will be fitted with batteries of long-range guns.—Trans-Ocean Kuo Min.
