To the Editor of the "Norri-Ciina Day News"
Sik,—Notwithstanding the yarfoys letters written on the above subject, the building of the Cofin Depository still goes on, and already there a a number of coffined corpses depas ed therein. No action has apparent! been taken by the Municipal Council to close this place, and have the owners remove it elsewhere. In the Health Report published in the Mun cipal Gazette, last Frida under cre-motion, the Commissione of Public Health stated that;—"A total 17423 exposed, coffined corpses, wh. ch wei a grave danger to Public Health, were also dealt with by cremation.
In view of the fact that the coffined corpses in the above Depository are in flimsy wooden buildings, and that the doors, and windows, are kept open, I would like to ask the Commissione: of Public Health if such ce! ned corpses are not also a grave danger 1o the health of the residents in that part of the Edinburgh Road, and Avenue Haig area, and also to the children going to, and from, and whilst they are at, the Cathedral School? There is also the danger of fire to be considered.
With regard to peace and quite in this so-called residential area might mention that some di ys there are several tune: is at the above Depository, and what with the band: playing, and the servic held at night, this district is truly as much a Bedlam as that described b; your correspondent in his letter pub hed by you yesterday.
