Tokyo, Nov. 21.
Addressing the Government Rice and Cereals Commission yesterday afternoon, Mr. Machida, Minister of JAgriculture and Forestry, announced [the intention of the Government to [purchase new rice to the amount of 12,000,000 koku in December with a [view to relieving the extremely low price of rice caused by the bumper jerop this year.
The Minister also promised to} utilize the sum of 10,000,000 yen, which is to be left after the purchase Jof new rice, in proper manner in Jorder to assist the agricultural population who are hard hit by the Jzeneral depression and by the fav-Jourable harvest this year—Rengo.
