Customs officials here to-day' seized 450 ounces of opium aboard the Dollar line steamship President Pierce upon the arrival of the veesel from the Orient.
Simultaneously, customs officials seized 215 ounces of opium aboard the steamship President McKinley, another Dollar liner.
Ship's carpenters and room boys, las well as other employees of the essels, were arrested, It is understood that the "tip" which led to the arrests came from the Orient—[United Press.
