Marines Beat Durhams

The first four chukkers played yesterday were between the Marines and the Durham Light Infantry—both novice teams. The Marines held the upper hand in the match and scored eight goals whilst the Durhams could deadly accuracy, scoring three goals in rapid succession.

The Light Horse and Durhams played another two chukkers after the Ewo-Seaforths match. The line-up was the same except for Hum-preys who replaced Heslop. The Durhams did very well here and tied the Light Horse at three goals each Simpson scored once and Arderne scored twice for the Durhams whilst White scored twice and Johnston once for the Light Horse.

The best match was probably the One between the Troopers (W. H, Allman, N. F. Allman, Franklin and Kirkoriantz) and Highlights (Harris, Lacks, E, B. Moller and R. B, Moller) The sides were very even and it was a hard fight while it lasted. The latter eventually proved to be the winners by the odd goal in three.
