Sir Patrick Hastings, for the Rane-laugh Club, Ltd, said:: It is a most amazing result io two actions started so long ago as April, 1930. Evidence was felided as late as early this month by Mr. Croom-Johnson's client, and the most widespread charges of fraud against all and sundry have been made, Sir Patrick said that in 1934 Sir George Hastings, who was the managing director of the company, was dismissed from his position. At that time the club was rapidly going downhill Sir George was very anxious to be reinstated, and he and Mr, Behar bought up shares to enable this to be done, Thereafter Sir George continued to conduct the club, as—he had stated—no other man in England could have done, Nevertheless the club progressively descended, financially, His position was again considered and he was again dismissed.
Mr. Croom-Johnson objected to these matters being gone into. He said there was another action pending in the Kings Bench Division, in regard to Which claims were being made by Sir George Hastings with reference to alleged wrongful dismissal and by other men claiming in regard to special relief of their own.
Mr. Justice Farwell said he gathered that Mr, Croom-Johnson, Oh behalf of Sir George Hastings, had offered everything that Sir Patrick's clients were entitled to if they succeeded in the actions.
