Immediate independence of the Philippine Islands "for national defence reasons" will be provided a Dill to be introduced in the House soon, it_was announced to-day by Mr. Thomas O'Malley, Democratic Representative of Wisconsin.
The Dill, which has not yet been drafted, contemplated eomplete severance, politically and economically, but will leave the way open for further trade ne-gallations, Mr. O'Malley said.
"The Philippines want dependence. They have long fagltated for independence and there is no time ike the give them what they want. In view of the present Far Eastern situation, tone of the wisest things the United States could do would be to move out of the Philippines and not run the risk of being caught," said the Wisconsin mited Press.
