Tokyo, June 30.
Captain Kotoku Mizuno, retired, was fined in the local court on the grounds that hís book, "Information on the War," written after a visit to battle scenes in China last September, violated the Publications Law. Captain Mizuno, says the "Nichi Nichi," became a humanitarian after the Manchurian and Shanghai incidents.
The Japanese authorities hold that his present book is likely to mislead the public in the present wartime emergency and, therefore, is disturbing to peace and order. No indication has been given as to the actual manner in which Captain Mizuno trans-grossed the law.—Reuter.
