There was-not any firing of guns in Shanghai yesterday to salute the birth of a royal princess in the Netherlands—but the local Netherlands community celebrated in their own way by staging what one of their members termed a "Dutch Treat" at the Arcadia Restaurant last night. In spite of somewhat hard times, there was no lack of festive spirit among the loyal Netherlanders who gathered together to celebrate an event which has been eagerly awaited for several weeks.
Arrangements have also been made for a reception to be held at the Shanghai Club some time next week by the Netherlands members of the club.
