The Washing

Start off on the shampoo by giving your hair a good brush—shake it out and air it. You will find this makes a big difference in getting it lathered Now make your lather and dip your head into it. Take a small stiff nail end of your labours, that your hair brush is covered with a fine powder of soap and that your hair is dull instead of sparkling.

Therefore after your second rinse go on still further. Turn the cold water tap full on to your head and wash away every last bit of soap, helping it along with your fingers.

Then, as the finishing touch, fill the basin with warm water and lashings of vinegar—if your hair is dark—or lemon juice if itis fair. It isn't necessary to use imported vinegar—the Zhina or Hongkong-made variety will answer your purpose admirably. And limes can be used instead of lemons, if they are easier to get, Give your hair a thorough last rinsing in this and you can be sure it will come out silky-soft.
