Kane weighed 11l' pounds and Jurich 109.
Although the British Boxing Board advertised this bout as a world championship encounter after stripping Benny Lynch of Scotland of the title because of his failure to maintain his weight within 112 pounds, the New York Athletic Commission insisted that the title should be decided through a series of elimination contests.
ThegNew York State group is at present staging a series of elimination bouts in New Yorg to determine the new champion.
