Italy to-day jumped off to a commanding lead against Holland, in the third qualifying round of' the Davis Cup competition of 1934, winning the first: two singles, Stefa was extended to the score being 11-9, 5-7, 6-2, but Rado (Italy) had the easiest ' time in winning Karsten by 6-1, 6-3, 6-1—Reuter.

Holland, who hag lost two singles in the third qualifying round of the Davis Cup competition for 1934 played here yesterday, showed bet ter form to-day and won the doubles match by three setts to one, Koopman and G. Scheurleer. playing for Holland, beat Taroni and Quintavalle (Italy), 6-4, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.
