Season's Styles

This year your fur coat must be boxy, wide of shoulder, loose-fitting but neat and of good line nevertheless. The construction of these easy-looking coats is a matter for an expert in cutting as in inexperienced hands they can achieve a slovenly, unfashionable outline. The straight-out shoulders must be so cut that they stay in the neat, tailored line; the hang must be according to a definitely smart plan, and a good deal of care must be taken with sleeves and pockets.

A variation will be given to some in a modified flare, though of course certain furs demand a fashion of their own and have no regard for style waves. Caracul and Persian lamb can be numbered among these: they often demand a defined waist line and flare as to skirt. Sometimes the basque or Russian coat style is followed, but, though this skin will model well according to prevailing styles, yet it has a latitude and license all its own which it uses to the full. those who must tramp it on a long day's shopping in town we know of no more comfortable item of wear. The small fur toque has also come into its own again, and with present styles in hairdressing this will be bound to prove popular. The cuffs of your winter gloves will be of fur, and we have also seen a handsome fur purse bag in beaver. This with tie and glove gauntlets to match would brighten up a last-year's cloth coat very well.
