Conscription Possibilities

London, Oct. 13.

Mr. Neville Chamberlain, "the Prime Minister, will curtail his vacation and return immediately to London to initiate Great Britain's large-scale rearmament programme, informed politic@l observers declared today.

Mr. Chamberlain will personally ipervise the rearmament programme, which will emphasize, in particular, the building up of a modern: fleet of fighting planes. In addition, he will investigate the possibilities of initiating: conscription legislation, it was reported.

Conscription, the most controvert sial points of the rearmament programme, has brought Labour groups vociferously protesting against any universally-applicable law that will automatically mobilize them for duty at home or at the front in case of war.—United Press.
