An unofficial, suggestion has been made to the Chinese authorities by the Diplomatic Corps here that the Foreign OMice should be transferred to Yunnanfu, capital of Yunnan province, Instead.of to Chungking, should it be found necessary to move all Chinese Government departments from Hankow, No decision has been reached regarding the proposal, but itis being seriously considered.
Ili the opinion of the Diplomatic Corps, Chungking is in many ways Undesirable because of communica~ tion. difficulties, Representatives of ye Powers fear that they might find dimleult. in Chungking to maintain direct communications with their home governments, and that transportation facilities to and from the Hew capital might become a serious problem, Yunnanfu is preferred be-fause it is connected by roil, high-Way. and air with Hanoi.
